Nuvo Burlesque presents: Army of Sass

 

What is the Army of Sass?

The Army of Sass is a training and performance group based out of Drive Dance Centre. This group is for anyone woman with dance experience or dancers looking for performance and training opportunities that love to get their sassy dance. Dancers must have a basic knowledge of jazz terminology and technique.

You must be able to complete:

- A clean single pirouette

- Grand Battement to 110 degrees

- Quick and clean pas de bourres

 

When:

Wednesdays 6:30-9pm

Training

You will receive an hour of Pussycat Doll style jazz-based training, which will help you with your technical abilities, finessing your struts and turns, while also bringing out your inner sass and confidence. This is followed by a 1.5-hour choreography session, where you will learn the dances that you will be performing choreographed by Carla Catherwood and taught in house by experienced DDC faculty and DDC Owner Geneen Georgiev. In addition, Carla will offer extra training sessions free of charge in preparation for the show. 

 

Performance 

The creator of Nuvo Burlesque, Carla Catherwood, will personally be flying from Toronto to finish setting the themed club show to be performed in April. At this time she will be casting and picking certain girls to play the lead characters in the Nuvo Burlesque themed show "WONDERLAND" based off of Alice in Wonderland. 

 

Dance Opportunities

Carla Catherwood is always keeping her eye out for new talent to hire for her production company, CMC Entertainment for her projects in both Vancouver & Toronto. Performance opportunities include local events, club nights, and/or opportunities that creator Carla Catherwood brings to Vancouver. Carla has hired past Nuvo Burlesque performers for music videos and corporate events.
